This blog was originally created as my final project for SJSU LIBR 220: Medical Librarianship to review methods in which the health and medical library community can better serve patients and patrons with special needs. Since completing my MLIS, I am expanding this blog to cover resources pertinent to all libraries.  In evaluating various resources for the disabled community, including those with visual, hearing, mobility, learning and intellectual impairments, my blog covers both ways to improve services to those with special needs, as well as resources for patient information. A variety of formats are included: books, journal articles, web sites, technologies, and best practices for librarians serving the special needs and disabled community.
